The Bermuda International Business Association is pleased to announce the winners of its 2010 Student Essay Competition. The following eight students were selected from the essays that were submitted, with the top three essay winners receiving monetary prizes of $300, $150 and $50 respectively. In addition to the monetary prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners, all eight winners of the essay competition have been invited to attend a private breakfast with guest speaker, Harold Ford, Jr. on the morning of March 4, 2010. Mr. Ford is a former U.S. Representative to the House of Representatives from Tennessee, Chairman for the Democratic Leadership Council and NBC News Analyst.

In this second year of the essay contest, students were invited to write a 500 word essay answering the question, “What impact can Bermuda’s youth have on Bermuda’s international business community?” Essays were judged on the content, the ability to support a position or argument and the use of grammar.
