Bermuda International Business Association to host London Conference promoting International Business
The Bermuda International Business Association (BIBA) will hold its Annual London Roundtable on 29 March 2007 at The Savoy Hotel. The event is an exclusive (by invitation only) afternoon of informative panel presentations and discussions hosted by Bermudian international businesses. This year guests will have the pleasure of listening to The Honorable Paula Cox, Deputy Premier and Minister of Finance who will deliver a keynote address at the kick-off luncheon. The sessions will be followed by a cocktail reception and closing remarks made by The Honourable Neletha Butterfield, Minister of The Environment, Telecommunications and E-Commerce.
At the Roundtable, BIBA will introduce guests to Bermuda’s international business community and highlight Bermuda’s state-of-the-art infrastructure, internationally respected reputation and track record of success in establishing Bermuda as an ideal destination for serious international businesses.
BIBA’s Chairman, Lloyd Wiggan, CEO, Cheryl Packwood, along with Minister Paula Cox and a delegation of top financial service representatives, will be on hand to offer an overview of the benefits of Bermuda and to lead a series of focused break-out sessions. These panels of industry experts will explain what is currently happening in the jurisdiction and will directly answer guest questions and address popular issues such as Bermuda’s hedge funds, private wealth, trusts and regulation.
“We are excited about the opportunity to take Bermuda’s international business message on the road and to create further opportunities for BIBA members and others to expand and grow their businesses in the UK and Europe,” said Cheryl Packwood, BIBA CEO. “We are pleased to have the support of Bermuda’s government and to be joined by Minister Cox and Minister Butterfield. Their participation makes our message of partnership and cooperation between government and the business community crystal clear and demonstrates the focus our government is bringing to maintaining and growing Bermuda’s economy.”
