Winners of 2010 Business Bermuda Student Essay Competition have Private Breakfast with Harold Ford, Jr.

(Hamilton, Bermuda/March 4, 2010) -  Eight students this morning enjoyed a private breakfast with Mr. Harold Ford, Jr., Keynote Speaker at this afternoon’s AGM Luncheon.  Mr. Ford, former U.S. Representative; Chairman of the Democratic Leadership Council & NBC News Analyst, spent time speaking with the following winners of the 2010 Student Essay Competition:

1st Place – Tania Gray (Bermuda High School for Girls)
2nd Place – Kathleen Watts (Bermuda High School for Girls)
3rd Place – Olivia Joell and Jennifer Ross (Berkeley Institute)
Honorable Mention: Hannah Schaefer, Rebecca McLauchlan, Berkeley Brown and Nijmeh Marouf (Bermuda High School for Girls)

After spending time discussing US Politics, international business and studying in school, Mr. Ford presented certificates of achievement and prizes to the students.

“This morning went extremely well,” expressed CEO, Cheryl Packwood.  “I am very proud of these young ladies.  They represented the youth of Bermuda in a wonderful light and were fully engaged in their discussions with Mr. Ford. Mr. Ford was impressed with their awareness of the issues affecting Bermuda, the US and the world.”
